CHALLENGE

PULLING LinkedIn REPORTS took a lot of time

 In 2015, BusinessOnline launched their turn-key marketing analytics practice called DataWeld. The practice allows BusinessOnline to collect data from various APIs to scale out internal dashboards, saving the team’s time in reporting. As BusinessOnline built DataWeld, they found that downloading data from LinkedIn Campaign Manager took a lot of time.

 “Every day we had to go in every single ad account and press the ‘download data’ button twice,” says Eric Ramos, Director of Analytics at BusinessOnline. “We then had to save it in different folders for each account and then manually drop it in our data warehouse. It was a waste of time.”

The manual repetitive process was also error-prone. “We are all humans. Someone downloads a file, incorrectly names it, or puts in a different client’s folder,” Eric says. “It was a headache, and not the job that I wanted for myself or anyone on my team.”
